This trumpet is a fairly lightweight 2 lb. This trumpet is the last custom build of my career due to waning health and eyesight. At least one designer of custom trumpets begins every horn with an Olds valve section. The 5th harmonic is great, and so the upper register intonation.

The trumpet has a compact sound with great depth of character and excellent sonority in all registers. They have been completely disassembled, cleaned, valves are hand lapped and precision adjusted aligned with new corks felts when necessary, all slide tubes polished, then the horn is re-assembled play tested. In particular, it is said that this was true from the ambassador trumpet all way through to Mendez. It easily matches and blends with other trumpets trumpet players.

I built this trumpet from vintage Olds parts and a new old stock .462 Kanstul marvin stamm lightweight a brass bell. During the past few years I have thinned out herd and continue to do so. All slides operate with silky smoothness. Accessories - wood shelled case in excellent condition.

Mechanically, the horn is in awesome condition with lightning fast valves that are bright and shiny, without staining nor pitting, exhibit near factory spec compression. It is a free and open blowing horn with rich tone, loves to be piloted in the stratosphere where it develops sophisticated brighter edge complex overtones. The stamm model was available with either a lightweight a or heavyweight b bell. I removed the tuning slides standard water key and replaced it with a lee's. I am not an instrument dealer. Collecting and restoring vintage trumpets cornets, producing custom finishes, building horns for 56 years.

All original bell/ lead pipe/ valve block braces were removed and replaced with Conn socket rod braces, thus the horn was built completely tension free. No dents, dings nor previous repairs. If you ever had the desire to acquire one of my horns, this is your last opportunity. Cosmetically, the trumpet is in superb restored condition. The only exception was the custom crafted model which had a newly designed ultrasonic spun bell with narrower taper. All my horns are gig ready.
