The Conn K30123 1966 Shooting Star Director Trumpet is a vintage masterpiece that harkens back to the golden age of brass instrument manufacturing. This trumpet, with its unique serial number, is a testament to Conn's exceptional craftsmanship and commitment to quality.
The Shooting Star Director Trumpet features a stunning yellow brass bell, which contributes to its rich, resonant sound. The bell's shape, inspired by the Shooting Star model, is designed to provide superior projection and clarity, making it an ideal choice for both solo performances and ensemble playing.
The instrument boasts a nickel-silver leadpipe, which ensures a smooth and consistent airflow. This, in turn, enables the player to produce a wide range of dynamic tones, from the softest pianissimo to the loudest fortissimo.
The Shooting Star Director Trumpet's valve casing is made of Monel metal, a corrosion-resistant alloy that ensures the instrument's longevity. The valves themselves are made of nickel-silver, and they move smoothly and reliably, even after many years of use.
The instrument's hand-lacquered finish is both beautiful and durable. It protects the brass from tarnish and corrosion, and it gives the trumpet a distinctive, vintage look. The finish is complemented by the instrument's classic engravings, which add a touch of elegance and sophistication.
The Conn K30123 1966 Shooting Star Director Trumpet is a truly remarkable instrument. Its rich, resonant sound, smooth valve action, and durability make it a favorite among professional musicians and collectors alike. Whether you're a seasoned player looking for a vintage addition to your collection, or a beginner looking for a high-quality instrument to learn on, the Shooting Star Director Trumpet is an excellent choice.

It does have normal scratching and a few dings. There is a small amount of light surface corrosion - see last picture. The mouthpiece is a Vincent Bach corp.
I am not a musical instrument guy. The instrument has a very nice overall shine to it. That being said here are my observations. First of all.
The valves and finger buttons appear to be in very nice condition. There is one dent - please see 2nd last picture. Check the pictures carefully and you make call. Ron the shooting stars and director are distinct.
